The annual MEMS FORUM is an exclusive event which is held on the territory of Russia and the countries of the CIS. MEMS FORUM is totally focused on the issues of development, fabrication and applications of MEMS sensors and challenges of MEMS business development.

MEMS FORUM 2013 was aimed at exploring the applications of novel materials and products such as MEMS-accelerometers, gyroscopes, pressure sensors, optical sensors and switches whose applications aroused the principal interest of the attendees of the previous events held by Russian MEMS Association.

This year the number of participants has grown twice in comparison with the previous events and exceeded 170 executives from research groups, consulting companies, software developers, foundries, equipment vendors, startups, suppliers, systems manufacturers and, of course, buyers. Thus, present at this year Forum were the representatives of the in and around MEMS industries from Russia, Finland, Germany, France, the USA and many other countries.

The agenda covered a great number of sensor applications from medicine and automotive market to the high end aerospace industry.  New materials and technical know-how were also paid great attention to. The breakthrough of this year was the keen interest of the regular attendees to the optical and magnetic sensors as well as wireless sensor systems.  Furthermore, test results of the new gyro developments by Russian companies were clearly an important discussion point of the event. Keynote speakers from IMEC, Yole Developpement, First Sensor, BeanAir and Mikron Group raised provocative issues and spoke on the cutting-edge smart solutions.

MEMS FORUM 2013 featured a panel discussion on the prospects of development of MEMS market in Russia which addressed such topics as challenges of the localization of complete MEMS production chain in Russia, market evolution forecast and current problems of Russian companies from MEMS business.

Dr. Torsten Thieme, Managing Director, MEMSfab GmbH, Germany
“We had many good discussions and contacts, and we got another good insight into the nice town St. Petersburg. Hope that the good discussions will result into good business projects.”

Anatoly A. Kovalev, Dr. Sc (Tech.), General Manager, ZAO Zelenograd Nanotechnology Centre, Russia
“I was pleasantly surprised to see such a big group of executives, leaders and researchers got together in St. Petesburg. If you are interested to find a partner in MEMS supply chain, you must come to this event. MEMS Forum gives a great opportunity for interacting and networking with real professional guys.”

Igor V. Merkuryev, Eng. Dr., prof, MPEI, Russia

“You have a great team, everyone from your organization had a positive attitude and really played in unison. My colleagues agree with me that the time we have spent with you guys was very pleasant and useful. I enjoyed my stay here and surely it will be a memorable experience. Be sure I will eagerly come to the next Forum you make.”

Vladimir Ermolov, D.Sc (Tech.), Principal Scientist, Sensing and Wireless Devices, VTT, Finland
“You really know how to run an excellent conference. I also truly enjoyed meeting and engaging with business participants and research fellows from the companies in Russia. MEMS Forum is the only MEMS conference of this scale in Russia from business, contents and geographical perspectives.”

Alexaner V. Sokolov, Dr. Sc. (Tech.), Business Development Director, Concern CSRI Elektropribor, JSC, Russia
“The program was packed with the thought-provoking information and the most up-to-date trends in MEMS industry. Thus, everyone will have enough ground for second thought on the new market opportunities and the potential of their companies. I would like to thank RAMEMS group for bringing together professional and broad minded people at this event.”

Russian MEMS Association shows deepest gratitude to Sovtest ATE (Russia), Coventor Inc.(the USA) and Concern CSRI Electroprobor, JSC (Russia)  for the assistance and support in holding MEMS-Forum 2013, our speakers who eagerly shared their experience and ideas,  and industry specific mass media for the event promotion.
Thank you to all who attended MEMS FORUM 2013!
We hope to see everyone at our future events!
