During the Smart Systems Integration-2012 conference held in Zurich, Switzerland, Russian MEMS Association showcased the first biaxial MEMS accelerometer ±30g made in Russia .
The participants were agreeably surprised to see that technical characteristics of the accelerometer were as good as those of their foreign counterparts. Some of the technical parameters were found even surpassing.
The advantages of the accelerometer include miniature size and improved weight characteristics, high accuracy and robustness, excellent shock, vibration, as well as hard acceleration resistance. In his report that was presented during SSI-2012 conference, Denis Urmanov, executive director of RAMEMS, noticed that MEMS market in Russia is growing rapidly, and has become quite attractive for the development of innovative activities. Following this trend, RAMEMS is considering a possibility of making biaxial MEMS accelerometer ±60g in the near future.
